Just realized it’s been a week since I last touched base in the blogisphere. Blogiverse? Blogtown?
Anyway, I may have previously mentioned various readings that happen at Alumnae – and many of these are organized and hosted by our New Play Development (NPD) group.
At the end of January, I had the pleasure of taking part in a workshop weekend of Cate Frid’s GuineaPigging (which will be mounted at Alumnae on the main stage as part of our 2010-11 season in April 2011), directed by Molly Thom (who was also a New Ideas co-founder). This was a marathon – both physically and mentally – as we worked on the script, characters and staging for a more rounded experience of the piece for the audience. We presented it at the end of the weekend and it was a blast. A newbie to the cast, I felt like I spent most of the weekend playing catch-up – but we did good and it was an amazing creative experience.
This coming weekend – on Sun, April 11 – we’re doing another one. This time, Mozart Trio, by Flora Danziger – directed by Molly Thom. Studio at 2 p.m. sharp. Seriously. They’ll be locking the doors at 2 p.m.

I’ll also be sitting in on a rehearsal of The Queens this weekend. More on that next week.
