Ya know? There’s nothing quite as taxing as having a production meeting in a pub over beer and sweet potato fries. Seriously. N’ah – I’m just messin’ with ya.
Directors Barbara Larose and Ellen Green, producers Tina McCulloch and Lynne Patterson, SM Margot Devlin and I (bloggergal & ASM) met for our second production meeting on Monday night at Skal Bar, a short stroll from Alumnae on Adelaide St. last night. The sweet potato fries (2 orders) were consumed entirely by the stage managment staff.
Even though this show doesn’t go up until January – there’s tons to be done, including nailing down design and admin staff and crew, acquiring various wacky props and drafting an audition notice. Not to mention that this show will actually be two-in-one Stoppard shows: The Real Inspector Hound and After Magritte. Having finally read the plays a couple of weeks ago, I have to say this is going to be one wacky ride full of big, big fun.
Auditions will start the week before Thanksgiving, so keep an eye out on the Alum website Auditions page for details: http://www.alumnaetheatre.com/audit.html
Also, drop by Skal Bar (Adelaide St. E. at Ontario St.) – they’re good people, and they have an excellent menu and lovely selection of beer, among other tasty beverages.
Here’s a fun Magritte-related photo, taken during our music video shoot for the 2010-11 season theme song, Running with Scissors. That’s director Ellen Green.
