Alum gal in Queer in Toronto photo exhibit

But first: Hedda opens tonight! I’ll be there. Will you?

Now for the topic at hand: Conceived, executed and curated by Taryn Pimento and Margo Foster, Queer in Toronto is an arts-based project for queer women – and the photo exhibition has been up at the Gladstone Hotel, in the 2nd floor gallery space, since November 5.  And one of the participating queer women is yours truly!

The opening night was last night and the place was packed with – surprise – amazing queer women of all descriptions, as well as a few men and kids. The event featured a cash bar and a DJ spinning tunes – and, of course, lots of very cool black & white pix, along with hand-written thoughts about identity and queer women’s spaces. And to help cover the costs of the project, Taryn and Margo set up a silent auction with goodies from all over the city, including a fine selection of sex toys.

The Queer in Toronto photo exhibit will be at the Gladstone until November 24.
