After Magritte and The Real Inspector Hound open in just two days – and we finally finished painting the set last night.
And, just ‘cuz I love y’all so much, I thought I’d give you a sneak peek of the set (with set designer Marysia Bucholc’s permission, of course, who provided this photo). This is a close-up of the reversable central unit of the set – the side you’ll see during After Magritte. Marysia is the artist on the cup/clouds insert – from an actual Magritte painting.
Wow – it looks gorgeous! Great job, Marysia and Cathy. Can’t wait to see it in the flesh, as it were!
Thanks Tina. Marysia is the artist on the cup/clouds insert. I’m looking forward to seeing the whole set, as I’ve only seen pieces of it on a mostly bare stage up till now.
STUNNING!
Has anyone tried to poll the audience, even quite haphazardly, to see how many have noted the significance of the beautiful cup pattern????
I don’t think so – but that’s an excellent idea! And Marysia was wondering if folks would notice. We should ask the audience at the talkback on Sunday.
