NPD’s Little Ideas – program details

Hey all, this just in on the NPD’s upcoming spring reading event:

The Spring Showcase goes from BIG IDEAS to LITTLE IDEAS – here’s how…

THE MONOLOGUE – A LIFE IN MINIATURE

Sunday 29 May 2011 @ 2 p.m. in the Alumnae Theatre Studio

A laboratory exercise with 11 new 2-minute monologues

A good monologue is a sharply lived moment that encompasses a whole life. You’ll have a chance to trace the development of each of these 11 pieces – offered to you first in its raw state with a “cold” reading by an actor. Questions will be asked, then the playwright and actor will take it away to develop it with a director/dramaturge. You’ll get to see inside the process during the workshop sessions and when the final version is performed and discussed. Intrigued? Come and be part of this innovative exercise on Sunday May 29 at 2 pm in the Studio! Here’s the program:

Retirement – by Marianne Fedunkiuw, dir. by Anne Harper

Don’t I Know You? – by Ramona Baillie, dir. by Dorothy Kelleher

I’m Sorry, Steph – by Joan Burrows, dir. by Barbara Larose

The Golden Bell – by Norma Crawford, dir. by Jane Carnwath
