Coming up fast, folks – audition are next week! Alumnae Theatre Company seeks non-union actors for the second production of 2011/12 season:
A.R. Gurney‘s hit comedy “SYLVIA”
Directed by Maria Popoff
Performance dates: November 11 – 26, 2011
Greg and Kate are a typical middle-aged Upper East Side Manhattan couple, who have sent the last of their brood off to college, and moved from the ’burbs back into the city to enjoy their later years in style. While at the park, Greg befriends Sylvia, a perky stray dog [played by a human actor] and brings her home to the empty nest he shares with Kate. With his career in a tailspin, Greg welcomes the distraction of dog ownership. But after a long hiatus for childrearing, Kate’s career is finally taking off, and a dog is the last thing she wants. “Sylvia” is a charming comedy that illuminates the complex relationship between dogs and their human companions.
