Stage Manager wanted for June/July kids’ show

Leslie McBay, who appeared in Alumnae Theatre Company productions of Hedda Gabler (2010) and Pride & Prejudice (2009), is co-producing and performing in a remount of a sold-out FringeKids hit from last year called Honest Aesop’s Fables. It’s a re-imagining of some of Aesop’s Fables for a modern audience, with music and a bit of commedia. Tarradiddle Productions is in need of a stage manager for short runs in Goderich and Toronto in late June and mid-July.

MORE INFO from Leslie:
The show is about 50 minutes long and each ensemble member plays a bunch of different characters. We have a good video of one of the performances, which will help us in making some edits to the script, but will also be valuable to a new stage manager in getting a handle on the show before we jump into rehearsals.

We are looking at rehearsing Sundays (mostly 1-7pm) and Wednesday evenings (5-9pm). It looks like we will have free rehearsal space in the St. Clair and Lansdowne area, so most of our time will be spent there.

Here is the current schedule:

Sunday May 18- 1-6pm (Meeting & Script Editing)

Sunday May 25- 5-10pm (Finalize Script)

Sunday June 8- 1-6pm (Begin rehearsals)

Sunday June 15- 1-7pm

Wednesday June 18- 5-9pm

Sunday June 22- 1-7pm

Wednesday June 25- 5-9pm

Friday June 27- Travel to Goderich (Evening)

Saturday June 28- Tech + 2 shows in Goderich

Sunday June 29- 2 shows + strike + travel back to TO

Wednesday July 9- 5-9pm

Tuesday July 15- Tech day at Palmerston Library Theatre

Wednesday July 16- Afternoon/Evening shows TBD

Friday July 18- Afternoon/Evening shows TBD

Saturday July 19- Morning/Afternoon shows TBD + strike

This will be a profit-share production. We are looking to have all our travel and rental expenses covered by sponsors for our run in Goderich. We are sharing costs for our run in Toronto with Shakey Shake and Friends (they will be running their hit show from last year in rep with ours). This will run the week after Fringe, so we should be able to get a fair amount of interest from FringeKids patrons who missed these hit shows last year.
